A very warm welcome to Veda Society. We are happy you came across our webpage and hope to present you here some insightful information on the Vedanta and Yoga. On this webpage you will find a short explanation to the principles of Yoga and how you can integrate these ones easily into everyday life.
With this initiative we aim to elucidate people on the benefits of the "art & science of Yoga" and enthuse people to live a "Yogi Lifestyle". To many people in the West Yoga is primarily associated with yoga-asanas and meditation. However, Yoga is by far more than that; Yoga is a philosophy of life, it is a body of spiritual knowledge that has been revealed to rishis (seers and prophets of Inida) and passed on to us in the sacred scriptures of Hinduism.
We have chosen the name Veda Society because we truly hope that one day society follows the "path of knowledge", so that more people find spiritual and personal fulfilment and health and happiness in their lives. The literal translation of Veda means knowledge and for a spiritual seeker it is the "path of knowledge" that leads to liberation. You will find more information on the benefits of Yoga by clicking here. As pointed out by Swami Vivekananda, you do not need to adhere to a spiritual cult or institutionalised religious movement to live the "Yogi Lifestyle". By simply reading the scriptures for yourself, meditating, practicing yoga-asanas and keeping a "loving mindset" you can apply the principles of Yoga in everyday life to the benefit of yourself and the people that surround you.
As based on the Vedanta, regardless of your religion, spiritual orientation or philosophy, Yoga as a philosophy can serve as a framework for you to integrate your own spiritual practices into it. You do not need to be an ascetic Yogi to live the "Yogi Lifestyle". To find out more about the core principles of Yoga and how to easily apply them in everyday life click on the respective links:

The regular practicing of Yoga centres you, gives you inner stability, peace of mind, serenity and greatly improves your interpersonal relationship skills. The more people find peace within themselves the greater the likeliness that peace will manifest on this earth. Contribute to peace and join the global peace prayer, for more information click here.
